Posted February 01, 2020 08:31:24A man has been jailed for a year for drawing a picture of a child in his classroom, and then posting it online.
The man, aged in his 20s, was sentenced to two years in prison at the High Court in Melbourne.
The woman who brought the picture to the attention of authorities was also jailed for six months.
He was found guilty of breaching the Children and Young Persons Act.
He said he was “embarrassed” and “angry” after the photo was posted online, and had wanted to apologise to the girl.
“I just wanted to say sorry,” he said.
“But it was just so embarrassing.”
The court heard that the girl, who was 13 at the time, told the court she did not know the boy.
